A facial is one of the best ways to take care of your skin. It nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion, and can help your skin look younger. Medical facials combine the relaxation of a facial with targeted, effective skin rejuvenation and maintenance. Medical-grade products and techniques are used to customize the facial treatment to your specific skin needs the day of your appointment. One treatment lasts 1 hour.

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical method of skin resurfacing that suctions away damaged or dead skin cells by using bicarbonate crystals to reveal softer and smoother skin, effective for the removal of fine lines around the lips, eyes and neck. In addition, age spots, stretch marks and acne scars are visibly diminished with just a few treatments. In the process, it stimulates the production of new skin cells, collagen and elastin. Tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin to gently remove the outer layer of your skin.

This technique is less aggressive than dermabrasion, so you don't need numbing medicine. lt is basically an exfoliation and skin rejuvenation procedure that leaves skin looking softer and brighter. Often referred to as the "lunchtime facial" because they can be completed in as little as thirty minutes. Because the microdermabrasion procedure is non-surgical and virtually painless, it is a safe and highly effective way to restore a clear, youthful glow to the skin.

Microdermabrasion is recommended for men and women of all skin color, and is FDA approved. For optimal results, a series of 6 to 10 weekly sessions is normally recommended. This treatment is not recommended for rosacea.

Combined facial and microdermabrasion

Dermaplaning is a procedure to smooth the skin's epidermis, refine the texture, soften surface irregularities and remove fine hairs. It is most often used to improve the texture of dry lifeless skin, and those who want to revitalize their facial skin. It is also frequently called microplaning or epi-blading due to the fact that the procedure involves using a tiny blade that is moved across the top layer of the skin, resulting in a smoother, more youthful looking facial appearance. You will find your skin looking and feeling more radiant typically after one treatment.

What is Involved in the Treatment?

Dermaplaning varies from other skin resurfacing procedures such as chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing in that it uses no chemicals or laser to treat the skin's surface. A fine blade is moved across the top of the skin in quick strokes, removing dead skin cells, imperfections and hair. It is the first choice for patients with fine facial hair. Dermaplaning is preformed quickly with little prep time, no down time and few to no adverse effects.

Dermaplaning is often performed as a pre-treatment to prepare the skin for other laser treatments, chemical peels or even a basic facial. Also, about a week to ten days following an IPL photofacial, dermaplaning can be scheduled to remove the dark, dead skin that has risen to the surface of the epidermis.

Microneedling Treatment triggers new collagen production for a dramatic visible improvement in overall appearance of the skin with virtually no downtime. Microneedling minimizes pore size, addresses uneven skin tone, pigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles on the face, neck, and even stretch marks. It is highly effective for all ages, skin types, and skin conditions.

Your visit will take about an hour. When you arrive a numbing cream is placed on the area to be treated. Once your skin is numb the procedure can be completed in approximately 30-45 minutes with minimal discomfort. There is no downtime and results are apparent almost immediately. Because it is administered through a device, it can be used on skin that is sensitive to chemicals or heat. The Microneedling device creates micro-channels in the skin which enable serums and skin care products to penetrate deeper for maximum benefit. For best results, a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended at 3-4 week intervals.

Microneedling can be used in conjunction with many other treatments as well for enhanced results. We recommend using PRP Therapy or Amniotic Stem Cell Therapy in conjunction with Microneedling.

Benefits of Microneedling:

  • Minimizing enlarged pores
  • Correcting uneven skin tone and pigmentation
  • Minimizing acne and other severe scars
  • Reduces Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Brightens dull, dehydrated winter skin
  • Caring for 40+ skin that regenerates collagen at a much slower rate
  • Caring for skin that is damaged from sunburn, chemotherapy, or medication
  • Caring for skin that is sensitive to heat or chemical treatments

How it works: The trained esthetician or Doctor gently guides the Microneedling device in long strokes over the skin, completely covering the treatment area. The microthin needles penetrate the skin to create microscopic channels which cause the skin to immediately activate production of healing collagen and elastin

What to Expect: Over the course of a few days, the surface layer of skin is naturally sloughed off by the new layer coming to the surface, looking softer and firmer. Visible changes are almost immediate and continue to occur over the course of several weeks. Microneedling results emerge up to six months after treatment, as collagen production continues.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling results can be enhanced with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy.

Simply put, PRP is the platelet rich plasma present in the blood that releases growth factors that assist the body's healing process by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue and collagen. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been around since the 1970s and has been successfully applied to orthopedic surgery to promote healing. PRP has gained significant attention because growth factors are important for new cell generation and cellular functions, such as creating new collagen and elastic fibers. Growth factors come in many different varieties and are extremely abundant in our platelets. Studies have shown that PRP can also stimulate stem cells to promote the growth of new skin and it is known for its ability to rejuvenate the face and promote a firmer younger looking skin. This process uses your own natural platelets to help improve your skin!

The treatment involves the collection of approximately 8-16 ml of your blood which is then spun down using a centrifuge to separate out the plasma and platelet portions. The PRP portion of your blood is then used at the point of care to re-energize your cells into rejuvenating themselves. The product used is 100% your own blood.

Your own natural platelets help improve your skin by:

  • Promoting immediate healing
  • Reducing signs of redness
  • Increasing collagen production
  • Improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reducing and relieving scaring
  • Evening the tone and smoothing the texture of your skin

Unlike PRP which uses your own cells to rejuvenate your skin and increase collagen, using amniotic stem cell immediately increases the rejuvination process by using more youthful cells, hence the name "baby face facial".

Stem cells contain growth factors that may help to heal wounds, repair damaged tissues, regenerate aged skin, and reinvigorate growth of skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. Microneedling alone is a successful treatment for skin rejuvenation, however, used in combination with stem cells, it can accelerate the natural wound-healing response, providing more stimulation of growth factors with a faster healing response and reduced downtime. However, recent studies suggest that combined with stem cells, there is significant improvement in hydration, melanin, skin texture, dermal thickness and collagen, compared to microneedling alone.
